The 2008 Birmingham Rangers coaching staff are committed to long term player development with the following objectives:
Development of individual player skills with a focus on skating, shooting and passing.
Development of teamwork, game and situational awareness skills.
All players provided opportunities to apply skills in game situations.

Rob McClelland: Head Coach
Rob grew up in Minnesota where he played travel and Junior hockey before playing 4 years at Arizona State University. He has 10+ years coaching experience, primarily at the AAA level within the Compuware and HoneyBaked organizations. He currently works in the automotive industry at a Tier I supplier and lives in Bloomfield with his wife and son.
Johnny Shouneyia: Assistant Coach
Johnny Shouneyia grew up in Bloomfield Hills, MI and he played both his minor and Junior hockey through the Compuware program. Johnny played 4 years for The University of Michigan from 1999-2003. He has been coaching for five years with both mini mites and mites through the Birmingham program. He is the father of four (two boys and two girls) and still resides in Bloomfield Hills.
Tom Maliszewski: Assistant Coach
Tom grew up in Shelby Township, MI, playing hockey at the Fraser and Mt. Clemens Ice Arenas. He has spent the past five seasons coaching hockey in Birmingham at the 6U, 8U and 10U levels in both the Birmingham House and Travel Program, including 2 years as Mite (8U) Director and 2 years as President of the Birmingham Hockey Association.
